Haneda Airport is much closer to central Tokyo than Narita Airport. Depending on the destination, the road distance to many major areas of central Tokyo is approximately 15–25 km (9–16 miles).
Haneda is located on the Tokyo Bay side of southern Tokyo, close to the border with Kanagawa Prefecture. This makes it particularly convenient for many destinations in southern and central Tokyo, but travel time still varies considerably depending on where in Tokyo you are going and how congested the roads are.
The area around Haneda is also one of the busier parts of the Tokyo road network, with heavy traffic on major roads and expressways at many times of the day.
For example, destinations in eastern Tokyo such as Ueno or Asakusa are farther from Haneda than areas in southern Tokyo, and the journey by car can take around 40 minutes under normal conditions, depending on traffic.
For this reason, the fact that Haneda is “close to Tokyo” does not mean that every Tokyo destination can be reached in the same amount of time. Travel time varies substantially depending on whether you are going to Shinagawa, Ginza, Tokyo Station, Roppongi, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Ueno, Asakusa, or another area.

Travel time from Haneda Airport depends on your exact destination, the time of day, and current traffic conditions.
Under normal traffic conditions, many journeys to central Tokyo take approximately 20–45 minutes. However, Haneda is located in a busy part of southern Tokyo, and congestion on major roads and expressways can increase travel time considerably.
Travel time also differs substantially according to the destination. Shinagawa is relatively close to Haneda, while journeys to Ginza, Tokyo Station, Roppongi, Shibuya, Shinjuku, Ueno, Asakusa, and other areas each require different routes and travel times.

Most international flights arrive at Haneda Airport Terminal 3. Terminal 3 has one main exit from the international arrivals area into the public arrival lobby, which makes the meeting process relatively simple.
After passing through customs and entering the public arrival lobby, look toward the area directly in front of the arrival exit. Your TokyoAirporter driver or airport staff will be waiting there holding a Meet & Greet sign displaying your name.
During busy international arrival periods, the area immediately outside the exit can become very crowded. In that situation, our driver may stand slightly farther back from the exit so that the sign is easier for arriving passengers to see.
TokyoAirporter uses a dedicated extendable Meet & Greet sign pole, allowing your name sign to be displayed above the surrounding crowd rather than only at chest or head height. This makes the sign much easier to identify when the arrival lobby is busy.
A limited number of international flights, including some flights operated by Star Alliance airlines, use the international arrival facilities at Terminal 2. Because the number of international flights using Terminal 2 is much smaller, the international arrival area is generally less crowded. After entering the public arrival lobby, you should be able to find your TokyoAirporter driver or staff member waiting near the front of the arrival exit with your name sign.
When you make your reservation, please provide your correct flight number. We use this information to confirm whether your flight will arrive at Terminal 2 or Terminal 3 and arrange the Meet & Greet at the appropriate arrival area.
You do not need to leave the terminal, go to a parking lot, or walk around Haneda Airport looking for your driver.
After completing customs, simply enter the public arrival lobby and look for your name. TokyoAirporter will be there to meet you inside the terminal.
Yes. TokyoAirporter provides Meet & Greet service inside the airport terminal for international arrivals at both Haneda Airport Terminal 3 and the international arrival facilities at Terminal 2.
Our Meet & Greet service means exactly that: your driver or assigned airport staff actually enters the terminal and waits for you inside the public arrival lobby near the international arrival exit, holding a sign displaying your name.
You will not be asked to leave the terminal, carry your luggage outside, walk to a parking area, or search for a vehicle before meeting your driver.
Some airport transportation services use a different pickup system in which passengers are contacted after arrival and instructed to walk to a designated vehicle pickup area. In other cases, the vehicle or driver may not yet be at the terminal when the passenger enters the arrival lobby.
That is not how TokyoAirporter's Meet & Greet service operates.
Before beginning the Meet & Greet service, our driver parks the vehicle in the airport parking area and enters the terminal on foot. The driver or assigned airport staff then waits inside the arrival lobby for you.
Most international flights at Haneda Airport arrive at Terminal 3, while a smaller number of international flights use Terminal 2.

There is no need to worry if your flight to Haneda Airport is delayed. TokyoAirporter monitors the flight information provided with your reservation and adjusts the Meet & Greet timing according to the actual operation and arrival of your flight.
When making your reservation, please provide your correct flight number. This allows our operations staff and assigned driver to check the status of your flight and respond appropriately if the departure or arrival time changes.
For example, if your flight was originally scheduled to arrive at Haneda Airport at 3:00 p.m. but is delayed and actually arrives at 5:00 p.m., we do not consider you to be two hours late for your airport transfer.
Your Meet & Greet timing is adjusted to the actual arrival of your aircraft.
After your flight lands, you will still need time to disembark, complete immigration, collect your checked luggage, and pass through customs. Your TokyoAirporter driver or assigned airport staff will then meet you inside the public arrival lobby, holding a sign displaying your name.
Importantly, TokyoAirporter does not charge additional waiting fees simply because your flight itself arrived later than its originally scheduled arrival time.
In other words, if the delay is caused by the airline or the operation of your flight, we do not start calculating additional waiting charges from the original scheduled arrival time while your aircraft has not yet arrived.
This is different from a situation in which your flight has already arrived and, after completing the normal arrival procedures, you intentionally spend a significant amount of additional time elsewhere in the airport without informing us.
If you already know that you would like to spend considerable time at Haneda Airport after arrival — for example, for shopping, dining, meeting someone, or completing another lengthy activity — please tell us when making your reservation so that an appropriate meeting time can be arranged.
For a normal flight delay, however, you do not need to rearrange your transfer or worry about additional waiting charges caused simply by the delayed arrival of your aircraft.

International arrival procedures do not take the same amount of time for every passenger. Immigration queues, baggage delivery, customs procedures, and airport congestion can all affect how long it takes to reach the arrival lobby.

Your driver or assigned airport staff waits for you in the arrival area rather than expecting you to appear immediately after the aircraft lands.
If there is an unusually long delay — for example, because of lost luggage, an immigration issue, or another unexpected problem inside the airport — please contact TokyoAirporter by email or the contact method provided with your reservation when reasonably possible.
Please do not assume that your driver has simply left because your arrival procedures are taking longer than expected. If there is a problem, communication allows our operations staff and driver to understand your situation and respond appropriately.

Yes. If you arrive at Haneda Airport Terminal 3, you can take care of services such as luggage delivery, purchasing a SIM card, collecting Pocket Wi-Fi, or other necessary airport arrangements before leaving the airport.
However, there is one important request from TokyoAirporter: please meet your driver or assigned airport staff first before going anywhere else in the terminal.
After completing immigration, baggage claim, and customs, enter the public arrival lobby and look for the Meet & Greet sign displaying your name. Once you have met your driver, simply tell them what you would like to do before leaving the airport.
Our drivers are very familiar with Haneda Airport and can guide you to the appropriate facility efficiently. This is often much quicker than searching around an unfamiliar terminal by yourself, and it also prevents the driver from waiting in the arrival lobby without knowing where you are.
The situation can be different if your international flight arrives at Terminal 2, particularly if the service you require is only available at Terminal 3.
For example, if you specifically want to complete a JR-related procedure that requires you to go to Terminal 3, transferring between terminals solely for that purpose can add considerable time to your airport departure.
Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 are separate facilities. If it is necessary for TokyoAirporter to take you to Terminal 3 by vehicle, the driver must first take you and your luggage to the vehicle, drive to Terminal 3, enter the appropriate airport parking facility, and then accompany you into the terminal.
Vehicles cannot simply park and wait on the roadway in front of the terminal while passengers complete lengthy procedures inside.
During busy travel periods, airport parking facilities can also become heavily congested, making what appears to be a simple stop at another terminal considerably more time-consuming than expected.
For this reason, we generally do not recommend making a special trip from Terminal 2 to Terminal 3 solely to complete a JR Pass-related procedure if you do not need to use JR immediately from Haneda Airport.
If your JR-related procedure can be completed later, it is usually more efficient to do it at an appropriate JR station when you are actually ready to begin using JR services.
If you nevertheless specifically request a separate Terminal 3 stop and assistance before departing Haneda Airport, please tell us in advance. Because this requires additional driving, parking, driver time, and airport assistance beyond the normal transfer, an additional charge may apply.
Similarly, if you already know that you plan to spend a significant amount of time at Haneda Airport after your flight arrives, please tell us when making your reservation. We can arrange an appropriate Meet & Greet time rather than having your driver wait unnecessarily in the arrival lobby.
